State Government PSC Exams 2022: Check Recent Posts & Vacancies

In order to attract qualified individuals, each state conducts a variety of state-level exams through the Public Service Commission or other organizations. Group A and Group B Officers are selected through State PCS examinations. These examinations are similar to the Union Public Service Commission Tests but they are held at the state level. Each state conducts PCS exams to hire members for the post of administration and other officers of various grades and positions. In addition to this, each Public Service Commission has its own website, which differs in terms of the test pattern, qualifying requirements, syllabus etc.

State-wise PSC Examinations and Allied Details

Given below are the state-wise PSC exams along with all the necessary details.

1.   RPSC RAS (Rajasthan Public Service Commission)

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) holds many examinations for recruitment to the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) every year. Some of the posts under these services are:

  • Special Secretary
  • Joint Secretary
  • Deputy Commissioner
  • Chief Secretary
  • Additional District Magistrate
  • Deputy Secretary

The exam pattern of the RPSC Examination is similar in terms of the UPSC Examination with minimal difference. The RAS exam consists of 2 primary phases. Phase 1 has a Prelims paper and Phase 2 has a General Studies Paper. There are a total of 4 General Studies Paper with no optional subject. The concluding stage is the examination stage.

2.   MPPSC (Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission)

The Madhya Pradesh Service Commission on the other hand holds different exams such as department-wise, competitive as well as Civil Services exams for fresher or junior positions. The MPPSC exam is held in three stages – Prelims, Mains & Interview. There are two papers in Prelims of 2 hours each. In MPPSC mains, there are a total of 6 papers. The MPPSC Prelims is expected to be held on April 24, 2022.

3.   OPSC (Odisha Public Service Commission)

The exam dates for the Odisha Public Service Commission Exam 2022 are soon to be released on their official website. The OPSC exam will be conducted for recruitment to Group A, Group B, and Revenue Services. The exam pattern is the same as that of the UPSC examination consisting of 3 stages being the prelims, the mains, and the interview stage.

4.   TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission)

The TNSPC Exam dates for Group 1 have been released. The TNPSC mains exam for Group 1 is expected to be held on May 28, 29,& 30, 2022. Every year exams are held for recruitment to Group 1, 2, 3, 4 as per the number of vacancies announced in order to shortlist the best candidates. The total number of vacancies for 2022 has not been released yet. In 2021, TNPSC had released a total of 134 vacancies.

5.   JPSC (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

The JPSC tentative Exam dates have been released. The application process is expected to begin in March 2022 and end in April 2022. A total of 267 vacancies were announced in 2021 for the position of Junior Registrar, Planning Officer, Probation Officer, Deputy Collector etc.

The exam pattern is somewhat similar to the UPSC exams. It is characterized into 3 stages – prelims, mains (having a total of 6 papers) and the personality test. It involves no negative marking.

6.   CGPSC (Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission)

The CGPSC prelims 2022 exam was held on February 13, 2022. The commission is expected to release the prelims answer key soon. The tentative date for the results is yet to be released. CGPSC will soon release an official notification for the CGPSC mains exam 2022 on their official website. Candidates can apply for the CGPSC exam on the CGPSC official website.

7.   UKPSC (Uttarakhand Public Service Commission)

The Uttarakhand PCS Examination is held to recruit candidates for government offices and other positions such as District Minority Welfare Officer, Jail Superintendent, Deputy Collector etc. The minimum age requirement is 21 years and only candidates belonging to Uttarakhand are eligible to apply for the UKPSC exam. The exam pattern is similar to the PCS Exams of other states. The exam consists of 3 stages – Prelims (2 papers), Mains (7 papers), & Interview.

8.   HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission)

The HPSC tentative exam dates have been released. The HPSC exam 2022 is expected to be conducted in September 2022. The application process is expected to begin in March 2022. The exam is to be conducted in offline mode. It consists of 3 stages like the UPSC examination – prelims, mains and the interview round. It is conducted in both Hindi and English.

9.   WBPSC (West Bengal Public Service Commission)

The exam dates for the WBPSC examination are yet to be released. A total of 21 vacancies have been announced for the posts of Supervisor, Project Coordinator, Medical Officer, Accounts Clerk etc. WBPSC exam will be conducted for recruitment of Group ‘A & C’, ‘B’ and ‘D’ services. Candidates can apply from the official website after going through the eligibility criteria
