SSC CHSL Exam will be organized in tiers provided below:

  • Tier 1: Computer-Based Written Exam (Objective Type)
  • Tier 2: Written Exam (Descriptive Paper)

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2020

Tier 1 is objective in nature (MCQ). The mode of the SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam will be online and the question paper will contain 4 sections as mentioned below:

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam (Objective Type)

  • According to SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2020, in Tier 1 Exam total 100 questions will be asked of 200 marks.
  • The total duration of the SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam is 60 Minutes.
  • SSC CHSL Tier 1 Question Paper will be set in both English as well as Hindi for every section excluding English Language section.
  • In SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam, Negative marking of 0.50 marks will be applicable.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2020 (Descriptive Paper)

  • As per SSC CHSL Exam Pattern, Tier 2 Exam will be descriptive in nature to be organized in offline (pen & paper based) mode.
  • Students who will appear in exam, will be asked to write an essay / letter / application on any subject.
  • Total 60 minutes will be given to candidates to complete the exam and exam will be of 100 marks.
  • SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam must be written in either Hindi or English.
  • Organization set the qualifying marks of SSC CHSL Tier 2 2020 that is 33 percent.

SSC CHSL Tier 3 Exam Pattern 2020

  • Tier 3 is a Skill Test/Typing Test and conducted for students of Tier 1 and Tier 2.
  • Typing Test will be organized only for candidates who will applying for Data Entry Operator (DEO).
  • All the candidates are hereby informed that they have to qualify the test at the set speed on Computer, given by the Commission at the notified Centre/venue.
  • Typing Test: Typing speed of 35 words per minute will be required for English Typing while on the other hand, speed of 30 words per minute is compulsory for Hindi typing. According to SSC CHSL Exam Pattern, typing test will be applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts.
  • Skill Test: Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. Skill test is conducted for candidates who have decided to apply for Data Entry Operator post. For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in C&AG office speed of 15000 key depression per hour is mandatory. The time duration of the test is 15 minutes.
  • Your final admission will be decided on the basis of total score attained in Tier 1 as well as Tier 2.
  • Only those candidates who are suffering from VH / OH (cerebral palsy) and OH in writing will only be allowed with compensation for 35 minutes including compensatory time 20 minutes for skill test.

SSC CHSL Marking Scheme 2020

As per New SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2020, the Tier I exam has 4 sections. Each and every section contains 25 questions and all the questions carry equal marks.
