About University :-
Punjab Technical University (PTU) was established in 1997 under the Punjab Technical University Act, 1996. The university has 494 affiliated colleges: 105 engineering colleges, 140 management colleges, 8 architecture colleges, 34 pharmacy colleges, and others (non-AICTE 135 colleges and AICTE 72 colleges). More than 2100 learning centres of the PTU are providing professional education through distance learning throughout the country. At present, after 15 years of its existence, PTU is providing education to approximately 576 students in the fields of engineering, management, architecture, and pharmacy. This number included 50 per cent of students from states other than Punjab.
