Nationality:
Nationality of a candidate must be
- a Citizen of India
- a Subject of Nepal
- a Subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention to permanently settle down in India
- Candidates of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the purpose to permanent settle down in India.
- In such case, if a certificate of eligibility is the essential government of India has been issued a certificate of eligibility in their favour.

UPSC IFS Age Limit 2022:
Indian Forest Service age criteria!!! Applicants must have a minimum age of 21 years and required maximum age in years as on 1st of August of the current year.
UPSC IFS Age Relaxation:
Candidates are hereby notified that those who are belonging to reserved category will be granted upper age relaxation as per rules of the management of the organization. Relaxable age of different category is followed-
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates
- 3 years for OBC candidates
- 5 years for domicile of State of Jammu & Kashmir
- 5 years for Defence Services personnel contenders
- 5 years for Ex-servicemen including Commissioned officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years Military Service and have been released.
- 5 years for ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of 5 years of Military Service.
- 10 years for Blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons.

Number Of Attempts For UPSC IFS Examination 2022
All the participants are informed that there are limits of attempt for Indian Forest Service Examination so, applicants belonging to different category must check how many attempts they can make for IFS examination –
- General category candidates can apply for Indian Forest Service Exam only for 4 times not more than it.
- For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) category there is no restriction, hence they can several times for same.
- Other Backward Class candidates can apply 7 times for IFS exam.
