DU SOL Admit Card Photo Missing or Signature Not Found? What to Do
If the photo box is blank or the signature says “not found” on your DU SOL hall ticket, do not wait. Retry once, then call the SOL helpdesk and ask what to carry to the exam.
I could not find an official SOL rule that tells students to paste or self-attest a photo. So this guide separates what is confirmed from what is only a sensible backup. That way you know what to rely on.
Quick Answer
- Retry once on a different browser or device. Do not keep refreshing.
- If the photo or signature is still missing, call the SOL helpdesk on 011-65213030 or 011-35663474 (Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
- Ask them what to carry to the exam centre and note the date, time and name of the person you spoke to.
- As a backup, carry your printed card, an original photo ID, a recent photo and a screenshot of the error.
Do this at least a few days before your first paper. Helpdesk hours do not cover weekends, and a night-before call may get no answer.
Why Does the Photo or Signature Show Blank on a DU SOL Hall Ticket?
SOL has not published an official reason. The most likely causes are a temporary loading problem or a missing image in your student record.
Reports on past exam cycles say the barcode and photo errors were linked to the student’s internal record or to server issues. One explanation does not fit everyone. That is why the first step is to retry, and the second is to call.
- Temporary glitch: The card loads, but the image does not. A fresh load often fixes it.
- Record problem: The photo or signature you uploaded at admission is missing or unreadable in the system. Retrying will not help here.
- Wrong or old photo: A photo shows, but it does not look like you now.
What Should You Try First Before Calling the Helpdesk?
Spend ten minutes on a clean retry, then stop. Repeated reloads during busy hours rarely help.
- Open the SOL page again from the official SOL homepage, not from a saved link or a message forward.
- Try a different browser, or open a private window.
- Switch to another device, such as a laptop if you used a phone.
- Try again later in the day. Heavy traffic can slow image loading near exam time.
- If your barcode is wrong or missing, use the “Know Your Barcode” option on the official SOL student portal page.
If you are not sure how to open the card in the first place, start with our main DU SOL hall ticket guide and then come back here.
Can You Still Write the Exam If the Photo or Signature Is Missing?
I could not find an official SOL rule that answers this, so do not assume. Some students say centres have let them in with other proof, but that is not a written guarantee.
The safe way is to ask the helpdesk before your paper. Ask exactly this: “My hall ticket shows no photo (or no signature). What should I carry, and will the centre accept it?” Then write down the answer.
Why does the written answer matter? Exam centre staff follow instructions from the university. A call note with a date and time helps you explain your case at the gate.
What Backup Should You Carry If the Problem Is Not Fixed?
Carry more proof than you think you need. These are sensible precautions, not official SOL rules.
- A clear printed copy of your hall ticket, plus a spare
- An original photo ID. Past hall ticket guides listed items such as the SOL ID card, Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport and Driving Licence. Read the instructions on your own card.
- Your SOL ID card if you have it, because it carries your roll number and barcode
- Two recent passport-size photos that look like the one you gave at admission
- A screenshot of the error with the time visible
- The helpdesk call note with the date, time and name
Should You Paste a Photo and Get It Attested Yourself?
Ask the helpdesk first. Pasting a photo and getting a signature across it is a common idea, but I found no SOL notice that calls it a valid fix.
There is a small risk too. If you change a printed hall ticket without permission, the centre may question it. If the helpdesk says it is fine, do it and ask who should sign. If they say no, carry the photo as loose backup.
What Should You Do If the Signature Is Missing?
Ask the helpdesk whether you can sign the printed card, and carry photo ID. A missing signature is usually less of a problem than a missing photo, but I could not find a written rule for it either.
Also practise your admission signature. If your signature on the card or answer sheet looks very different from the one in your record, it can raise questions. Sign the way you did on your admission form.
What If the Photo Shows but Looks Different or Wrong?
Treat a wrong photo as a bigger problem than an old one.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Photo is you, but years old | Carry original photo ID and a recent photo. Mention it when you call. |
| Photo is of someone else | Call the helpdesk right away. Do not wait for exam day. |
| Photo is very dark or unclear | Print again on good paper and carry photo ID. Report it if still unclear. |
Which Other Hall Ticket Errors Need Quick Action?
Errors in your name, roll number, exam centre or paper codes are more serious than image problems. They can affect which paper you sit for or where you go.
| Error | What to do |
|---|---|
| Name misspelled | Call the helpdesk and read about the DU SOL name correction process. A full record correction takes time. |
| Exam centre or address missing | Call the helpdesk the same day. Do not guess the centre. |
| Paper name or code wrong or missing | Match it with your exam form and the date sheet, then call. |
| Roll number wrong | Call the helpdesk immediately. Your result links to this number. |
Compare your papers with the DU SOL date sheet to see how many days you have left. If a paper is rescheduled, our DU SOL exam postponed updates page tracks changes.
How Many Days Before the Exam Should You Act?
As early as the card is available. Image problems may be small, but they depend on a person answering your call.
| When you notice it | What to do |
|---|---|
| One week or more before | Retry, call the helpdesk, and ask for written confirmation by email if possible |
| 2 to 3 days before | Call on the same working day, prepare backup documents |
| The night before | Retry once, prepare backup documents, and call as soon as the helpdesk opens |
| Exam morning | Go to your centre early with every backup, and explain calmly to the staff |
The helpdesk is open Monday to Friday. If your paper is on a Monday, call by Friday.
What Should You Keep Ready When You Call SOL?
Have these in front of you so the call is short and clear:
- SOL roll number and exam roll number
- Programme and semester
- Papers and dates you are appearing for
- A screenshot of the problem
- Your registered mobile number
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a missing photo mean my admission is cancelled?
Nothing I found in SOL notices links a blank photo box to cancellation. Reports describe it as a record or loading problem. Call the helpdesk to confirm for your own case.
Is a black and white print acceptable?
SOL asks for a printed copy. I did not find a colour rule. Make sure the text and any photo are clear, and ask the helpdesk if you are unsure.
Can a friend’s copy work if mine is broken?
No. Every hall ticket carries your own roll number and details. Do not share your barcode or credentials with anyone, even a friend.
Can I reupload my photo or signature?
I found no public reupload option. Ask the helpdesk if SOL accepts a fresh photo or signature for your record.
My exam is tomorrow. What is the fastest plan?
Retry once, screenshot the error, prepare your backups, and call the helpdesk as soon as it opens. If it is a weekend, reach your centre early with all documents and calmly explain.
What Should You Do Next?
Look at your hall ticket right now, and if anything is missing, call the SOL helpdesk today. Keep your backups in your exam bag. While you wait for a reply, keep your preparation going with the DU SOL syllabus and previous year question papers.
