About CSIR UGC NET :
CSIR is a pioneer in supporting R&D activities in the country. It started extramural research support to scientists working in universities and R&D institutions way back in 1943 with ‘Research Schemes’ vide Department of Commerce Resolution No. 148.Ind.(157)/41 dated 26th September 1942. CSIR has initiated various schemes over the years to benefit students to pursue their research interests in various areas of science & technology, the most noteworthy among these is CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test for JRF and Eligibility for Lectureship.
About CSIR-UGC Fellowship :
Online applications for JRF/NET are invited twice a year on an Indian basis through press Notification, which is also made available on the HRDG website. CSIR and UGC provide Research Fellowships to bright young men and women for training in methods of research under the expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in the University Department/National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science. Only bonafide Indian citizens are eligible for this test.
