CBSE has announced that subjects of class 10 CBSE will have a reduction of the syllabus for its 2023-24 exams. Science deleted topics and chapters 2023
The CBSE has deleted many topics from several chapters and units in science. The main objective of reducing the syllabus from the class 10th syllabus is to remove additional burden & stress for the students. First, let us get detailed information about the science subject reduced syllabus.
Periodic Classification: (Full Chapter Deleted) The chapter consisted of the modern periodic table, the need for Classification, early attempts to classify elements, metallic and non-metallic properties, gradation in properties, valency, and atomic number.
Sources of Energy: (Full Chapter Deleted). This chapter consisted of conventional and non-conventional sources, various forms of Energy, renewable versus non-renewable Energy, fossil fuels, nuclear Energy, water, solar Energy, biogas, wind, and tidal Energy.
Heredity and Evolution: A few topics were reduced for the 10th class from this chapter. The deleted syllabus includes basic concepts of evolution: Evolution, Growth, Classification, and development.
Management of Natural Resources: The exam will not assess this chapter from the science book. But, this chapter must be prepared well by the students for internal assessment only.
Magnetic Effects of Current: This is another chapter from which some of the topics were removed so that students can prepare for the exam well. The removed topics include electromagnetic induction, electric motor, induced current, Fleming’s right-hand rule, the induced potential difference, and an electric generator.
The Human Eye and the Colourful World: In this chapter, students don’t need to read the topic- the application of scattering in explaining the color change of the sun at sunrise and sunset.

Math deleted topics and chapters 2023
Many topics from the maths subject have been removed from multiple units. This will help the students prepare for the math exam well. Before starting the preparation, students must know what topics have been deleted from the course:
UNIT I-number systems: From the 1st unit, topics of real numbers and Euclid’s division lemma deleted got removed.
UNIT II-Algebra: This is one of the units from where so many chapters and topics were removed. These are:
POLYNOMIALS: Statement and simple problems on division algorithm for polynomials with real coefficients.
PAIR OF LINEAR EQUATIONS IN TWO VARIABLES: cross multiplication method
QUADRATIC EQUATIONS: Situational problems based on equations reducible to quadratic equations
ARITHMETIC PROGRESSIONS: Application in solving daily life problems based on the sum to n terms.
Unit-iii coordinate geometry: In this unit, the topic of the Area of the triangle is not essential from the exam point of view, so it was deleted.
Unit-iv geometry: Proof of some theorems is deleted from this unit. In the Constructions chapter, the construction of a triangle similar to a given triangle has also been removed.
UNIT V- TRIGONOMETRY: Application of Heron’s Formula in finding the Area of quadrilateral and Trigonometric ratios of complementary angles has been reduced.
Unit-vi mensuration: The math syllabus has deleted the Area related to circles and problems on a central angle of 120°. In the SURFACE AREA & VOLUME, the CBSE has removed the frustum of a cone topic.
Unit-vi statistics & probability: The two crucial topics removed from this unit are the step deviation method for finding the mean cumulative frequency graph.
